Abstract

Young refugees’ participation is crucial for an inclusive and healthy democracy. Yet, in the process of political engagement, young refugees encounter significant barriers due to multiple social structures and political forces, which treat refugees as the “other”. This article explores the barriers and responses that can be made through Youth Work approaches to enable fuller engagement in political participation.
