The Centre for Guidance Studies (CeGS), University of Derby, has written this document for IAG practitioners and managers. It is an integral part of a project funded by the East
Midlands Development Agency (emda) to promote awareness of the benefits of information, advice and guidance1 (IAG) for learning and work to both individual career and
wider workforce development in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). It also seeks to ‘kick-start’ activity in this area by providing practitioner guides.
