| Abstract | 2022 ‘Blowing Water, Critical Care’. Sharples was interviewed by Artist JJ Chan & Curator of Bloc Project Sunshine Wong for the publication on 'Critical Care'. Blowing Water, Critical Care is a publication of conversations that JJ and Sunshine have had with peers, studio holders and neighbouring organisations who are supportive of Bloc / whom Bloc want to support. We talked about care in all its direct and tangential forms: slowness, leaning-on, generosity and chatting. In fact, ‘blowing water’ is slang for ‘having a chat’ in Cantonese — both JJ’s and Sunshine’s first language — which, given the unstable year, largely became the form of this residency. Co-edited by Jack Whiting, Ellie Rankin, Sunshine Wong and JJ Chan. |
