Offering from the River (Artist Talk)

Sharples’ accompanying artist talk for the exhibition: Offering from the River at GLOAM, facilitated conversations around death practices, materiality and sustainability, articulating the ethical and interdisciplinary aspects of the exhibition. In particular, the artist talk made accessible New Materialist research related to human and non-human ecologies, which underpins much of Sharples’ practice.

This output formed part of Out & About: Creative Weekends in the Cultural Industries Quarter (CIQ) (Sustainability Weekender), and as part of the Sheffield Showcase Festival. Supported by Arts Council England and Sheffield City Council. This output contributes to Sharples’ ongoing research into site-specific necro-ecologies and architectures.
