| Description | Testing Ground marks the first iteration of Serf’s Exchange Programme with GLOAM. Throughout October, Serf invited GLOAM co-directors to inhabit their gallery space in Leeds, transforming it into a project space — a testing ground — for the development of new work. This collaborative process culminated in a public opening and exhibition. As part of the exhibition, Victoria Sharples presented Gurney (2023), a newly fabricated companion to Soft Shell (2023), alongside a reworking of St Andrew’s (2023), originally shown at Two Queens, Leicester. Also included was a print featuring Sharples’ ancestor, Heap — first produced as an artist edition and distributed at Abney Park Cemetery, London, during the event Where do we go when we die? Exhibiting artists: Stu Burke, Thomas Griffiths, Victoria Sharples, and Rose Hedy Squires. |
