Abstract | Cancer is a worldwide public health issue with prostate cancer being the most common malignancy in men over 40 years of age. The number of men diagnosed with prostate cancer is set to increase in the coming years and therefore it is vital to find methods of managing the multiple side-effects of the various treatments. Exercise is recommended for men being treated for prostate cancer by multiple organisations across the world. This is due to the positive effects it can have on aspects of physical and mental health, as well as its potential role in reducing disease progression and reoccurrence after treatment. This chapter summaries the literature surrounding physical activity and dietary considerations for men diagnosed with, and undergoing treatment for, prostate cancer. |
