| Description | This bespoke performance made for The Case of Pastuso critically considers the colonial British legacy in the Americas. Jingo Jango – colloquially translating to ‘ridiculous patriotic war mongerer’ – seeks to critique the gestural, performative behaviors of both the ignorant tourist and the audacious colonizer as a homogenized caricature. This work provides an experimental, yet problematic tackling of this burden with an attempted unshackling of a regrettable yet acknowledged ancestral history. Performed in July 2022 at Nevada State College, Henderson, Nevada, USA. |
