Abstract | Patient diaries are a low-cost intervention that can help reduce the impact of post-traumatic stress, anxiety and depression following an admission to an intensive care unit. There is an emerging evidence base about the benefits and challenges of keeping patient diaries. This literature review explores the impact on both patients and their relatives/carers of using diaries in an intensive care unit environment. |
