| Description | The University of Derby and S.H.E.D partnered with the charity UK New Artists for a free, week-long summer school for young people, exploring the intersection between art and engineering. UK New Artists and S.H.E.D have come together to co-design an offer for young creatives (aged 12 - 19) an exciting opportunity to participate in Machines of the Future: Creative Engineering Summer School. The programme shed light on potential career paths with local employers, and demonstrated to the young people how their creativity can make a meaningful impact on the world. This free week-long programme, led by S.H.E.D, UKNA and Derby-based artist John Whall and engineers from the University of the Derby, provided a unique opportunity for 15 participants to connect with like-minded individuals, shed light on potential career paths with local employers, and learn how their creativity can make a meaningful impact on the world. |
