| Description | Shedding Light on Nature: Derbyshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy Public Consultation. Local Nature Recovery Strategies are a new system of plans for nature and environmental improvement across England. The purpose of these plans is to establish priorities and proposals to help nature to thrive and provide wider environmental benefits in the future. The Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) for Derbyshire will be specific to the county of Derbyshire and the city of Derby and will set a long-term plan that is formed and delivered in partnership with a range of organisations as well as local people. This public consultation was commission by Derbyshire County Council in order to engage with the public communities in Derby and Derbyshire in order to inform the strategy and widen public engagement and enhance profile and awareness of the public consultation. DCC LRNS Killamarsh (Monday 17th February) As part of Derbyshire's Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) public consultation, the S.H.E.D team had set up our first event outside of Killamarsh Active Leisure Centre on Monday 17th February. From 10am to 4pm the team had shared various activities and materials with the public in Killamarsh on aspects nature, wellbeing and community. Our S.H.E.D Pods had showcased key details of the LNRS consultation draft as well as holding general discussions about the species, habitats and maps of Derby/Derbyshire and whether the public's priorities and actions match those of the LNRS draft consultations. Bakewell LNRS S.H.E.D Tour (22 February) On Saturday 22 February, the Designing Dialogue CIC team alongside colleagues from Derbyshire County Council, University of Derby, Heartwood and Space Face Films engaged with members of the public at the Bakewell Agricultural Business Centre during their monthly Farmers Market. The market supports local businesses, farmers and producers, which regularly attracts over 5000 visitors. Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) Webinars (25 February) The University of Derby, in association with Derbyshire County Council, is leading a project known as the Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS). On Tuesday 25 February, the Civic team held two online sessions (1pm-2pm and 6pm-7pm) for members of the public to come and share their ideas and opinions on nature recovery and what that means to them. There were 42 sign-ups in total for the online webinar sessions. DCC LNRS Arboretum Park: When Hiphop and Nature Collide. On Saturday 1 March, 150 people engaged with the Derbyshire County Council: Have You Say! Commissioned work led by Designing Dialogue CIC that runs S.H.E.D. Local community members from Arboretum Park discussed what should be done to improve the natural environment in Derby/Derbyshire. The University of Derby National Saturday Club members took part in a S.H.E.D commissioned workshops with Dr Chris Barnes, FamilyHUBs and Babypeople; they recorded sounds of nature and created a new track entitled Sounds of Derbyshire as part of for the public consultation work for local nature recovery strategy for Derbyshire. S.H.E.D was approached by the Public Health directorate at Derby City Council, to display artwork on nature recover from primary school children from across the city. S.H.E.D provided a crucial space for discourse with unengaged communities on what young people aged 5-25 in Derby/Derbyshire.
